(The below article is a summary on how to keep your Kratom tolerance low. If you’re interested in learning more about how to use Kratom, where to purchase it and how to take full advantage of this amazing plant, check out our Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Kratom.)

One concern long-term Kratom users have is building up a tolerance after prolonged use. A higher tolerance level can negatively impact your Kratom experience by making the effects less noticeable. WE WANT TO KEEP TOLERANCE LOW.

Here are a few things you can do to take full advantage of the benefits of Kratom and maintain a low tolerance:

Take Days Off

As with any supplement, it is important to remember to take days off. Ideally you should take at least 2 consecutive days off every week. This would be enough to reset your tolerance and get Kratom completely out of your system. Once you’re ready to take Kratom again, it should be just as effective as the last time!

Let’s look at coffee for a quick example. Coffee is great for uplifting your mood and giving you an energy boost – but after a while, it just doesn’t feel the same anymore. Imagine if every cup of coffee felt like your first. It’s the same with Kratom! We want every time to feel like our first time and CYCLING makes this possible!

Use Substitutes

On your days off, you may find yourself “missing” the extra boost you’re used to getting. This is normal, as it is with any supplement (coffee for example). No need to worry though – there are other beneficial substitutes you can use during your short breaks. (We’re currently working on creating a complete list of Kratom Substitutes and we’ll post it up soon!)

Mix Strategically

As a general rule, only use one strain per day. Sure, you’ll be fine if you mix strains for a couple days here and there, but do not make this a habit. Also, when you do decide to mix strains, don’t mix more than two at a time.

One example of strategic mixing would be to mix a white or green strain with a red strain. This blend of fast or moderate strains with a slow strain can deliver some awesome effects (since you’d be getting the inspiring and motivating impacts from the quick strains and the mood-boosting and anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) impacts from the red strain).

On your “regular days” (when you’re taking only one strain per day), make sure to alternate between strains and colors. This has proven to be very effective for keeping your tolerance as low as possible.

What About The Dark Side?

I’m sure you’ve heard or read about the negative or “dark side” of Kratom on online forums or your local news, but these are drastically exaggerated. Those who use Kratom responsibly and obey general supplement principles know that keeping your tolerance low is key.

If you’ve ever encountered someone who is experiencing a high tolerance, they were most likely mixing strains constantly, using extracts (a highly potent form of Kratom) or using the same strains over and over again. As we’ve learned, all of these things are detrimental to keeping your tolerance low and maximizing the Kratom experience.
